What exactly it is that we can do?
Building Analysis
Mark Dorsten, our Primary Public Insurance Adjuster is a Florida licensed Building Contractor (CBC1252909).
We analyze and reassess the damages caused to the subject structure. We use the below experts, when necessary to determine the extent of true damage and reconstruction costs. We use the same estimating program that is recognized nationally with insurance companies and courts. We produce a full damage model report including expert opinions on causation, reconstruction, building code, and related damages.
After this point, the reports are turned over to your insurance company and the process begins. They review and analyze our damage model, meet with us at the property and go over our conclusions. If we cannot come to an agreement with them at this point, we invoke a policy provision that removes it from the insurance company’s hands and a third party is called in to review the documentation and make a binding decision. We have had great success in our field due to the preparation and supported documentation of our damage model, as well as our knowledge. We work with the following experts on documenting your claim.
- Adjusters
- Appraisers
- Licensed Structural Engineer
- Licensed Commercial General Contractor
- Thermal Imaging Inspector
- Building Code Expert
- Forensic accountants
Business Interruption
On business interruption coverage we collect and analyze your previous business records. In order to accurately project potential income, the history of your company must be thoroughly studied and analyzed. We will employ the aid of forensic accountants to piece the claim together to your best advantage.

Our final reports typically include:
- A licensed general contractor report of the extent of damages and proper reconstruction methods, including OSHA requirements.
- A detailed itemized estimate of all components.
- A licensed engineer report on structural, roofing, windows, building envelope conditions and requirements.
- A thermal imaging photo album, narrative report on findings, and moisture effects.
- A list of any damaged business property (contents) aside from the buildings.
- An estimated and realistic time frame for reconstruction.
- Variance analysis of the various estimates
Detail and proper documentation is the key to successfully settling an insurance claim. Dorsten Claims treats every claim as if was their own. We utilize the same experts that the insurance companies use. We cover every angle and aspect of the claim from start to finish. We refer to a saying of “The prepared party prevails”. It is typical that our final product contains five times the information of our opponents.
